Melissa the Baker
Our girls LOVE Family Home Evening and look forward to it every week. We take turns with the various "assignments" and the girls anxiously await their turn to make the refreshments. Last week Melissa decided to make a 4 layer cake in her Easy Bake oven. It was SO YUMMY!
1st Day of School
Before Ray and I had children, we knew we wanted to teach them at home. It has been challenging, but also very rewarding. We enjoy homeschooling and the freedom it gives us to fill our children's minds with good things and the knowledge they will need to "make it" in the world.
The following picture is what our dining room/school room table looked like for well over a week while I prepared our lessons for this year. Yikes! My family was very patient during this time. :)
Kayla made this pencil holder! So cute!
Melissa made her cute pencil holder!
Mommy and Abbie made her super cute pencil/crayon holder.. she no longer has pencils in hers as she keeps trying to eat the erasers...

Yep.. me too.. wet hair, no make-up.. typical...
Our "Gift" from the Children's Museum
That oh-so-fun trip we took to the Children's Museum several weeks ago (pictures below) led to the worst "gift" we have ever received... LICE. The Sunday evening after our visit I found lice on Abbie's head. I started crying immediately and cried for the next 2 weeks as I did everything possible to get rid of them. It was truly a nightmare! Thankfully, Abbie was the ONLY one who had lice but it took forEVER for them to disappear. Seriously, a NIGHTMARE.
After her 3rd treatment... it was horrible.
I finally braided her hair so that I could watch for the nasty bugs easier...
Her hair after taking the braids out.. she thought it looked "funny"... I did too.
Daddy's 40th Birthday
Mommy MAY be a little behind on blogging and decided to use today to play catch up...
Daddy turned 40 this year!
We celebrated with cake on Sunday and cookie cakes on his actual birthday Monday night. Daddy is an amazing man who blesses our lives every day. We love you, Daddy-O!
The girls decorated his chocolate cake. SO yummy!
Excuse the mess all around Daddy, we were having a family camp out downstairs so everything was everywhere... Those cookie cakes were SO good!
Kayla beats Ehrlichiosis
Make a video - it's fun, easy and free!

Kayla became very ill after a tick bite and eventually ended up in the hospital with Ehrlichoiosis... the video above shows some of the things we experienced while there. So thankful she is feeling better!
