Poor, hungry Kayla
Last night I was a little late fixing dinner. While I was making it Kayla decided she wanted to call Aunt CiCi, so I pushed all of the buttons and handed her the phone. As soon as CiCi answered, Kayla broke out with, "I hungry. CiCi, I hungry. I hungry. I hungry." I am not kidding, that was the WHOLE conversation! Chris would ask her questions and Kayla would answer with, "I hungry!" Poor thing. I guess she thought that if she told another adult, some action would be taken! I finally DID feed her and when her tummy was full, she ACTUALLY said, "Oh, mommy fed me!" Then she called CiCi and told her that I fed her! Poor, hungry Kayla! She has been traumatized!

Flour vs. Flower
Tonight Ray and the girls were making some peanut butter cookies and he said, "It is time to add the flour." Kayla immediately climbed down from her chair with her little mixing bowl and spoon and came into the living room where I was. She picked up some flowers that she picked earlier from a plant on the front porch and put them in her bowl. She proceeded to "stir them up" and took them in to Ray. She was SO pleased with herself! It looks like I have another Amelia Bedelia in the making!
Fun Fun Fun!

Mommy and the Ferocious Beast
For the past 2 spring and summer seasons this turtle has come back to our house to get me. I SWEAR! Each time I have been innocently walking in the back yard when this thing comes out like magic and runs towards me! I am not kidding! It actually runs. I am pretty sure I could outrun it if I needed to, but lucky for me, I haven't had to find out yet. Ray comes along and "saves the day"... he is my hero. When he picks it up it hisses and then goes quiet, like nothing happened. (like in the picture below!!!) Yeah right! I know what is going on. It is out to get me. I should have hit it with the weed-eater the first time we met.

We are doing something right!
Yesterday (Sunday) was a LONG, sicky day. Kayla puked all over the car on the way to church so Ray (who had the Sunday School Lesson) took her home because I REALLY wanted to teach the lesson in the Young Women's class. On the way into the Chapel Melissa told me that she needed to throw up, so we RAN to the bathroom. She didn't, but the tone was already set for the day. We sat in the lobby during Sacrament meeting and "listened" to the testimonies and songs. Our whole day went like our morning. Around 7:00 Ray called me into the playroom to see what Melissa had done. She made 2 rows of seats for us to sit in and was standing at the front of the room with a lid from a rubbermaid that she was calling her pulpit. She then proceeded to say, "I know this church is true. I know my family loves me. I know Jesus loves me. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen." She bore her first testimony! It was the sweetest, most pure and heartfelt thing I have EVER heard. Of course my tears came quickly and continued to come as Kayla copied her sister and said, "love my family. love Jesus. Amen." She bore her first testimony! They then proceeded to give several more talks and testimonies that filled our home with the sweet spirit that comes with sharing feelings of the Savior. I am so thankful to have these sweet girls and my wonderful husband. They are such examples to me of the Savior's love. I am blessed.

Mommy Daughter date gone bad...
***PLEASE NOTE : Not for those with a weak tummy.***Melissa and I left sick Daddy and Kayla home today to head to the mall, the grocery store and Sam's Club. While we were out I had to have some blood work done at Lab Cor and we decided to go there first. Everything was going pretty well... singing songs, telling jokes, listening to "Grandma's CD" until I was signing in at the window. I looked down just in time to see Melissa PUKING ALL OVER THE FLOOR! It took me three heaves before I thought to grab a trash can from the other side of the room. We managed to get the last 2 heaves in there. GROSS! And to make matters worse, Lab Cor is moving to a new building tomorrow and apparently all of their cleaning supplies have already been moved over! Hello! It is almost as though they were not expecting a 3 year old to vomit all over the front carpet! To make it EVEN WORSE, Melissa had cottage cheese for lunch. Yep... not pretty. It took a while, but someone finally found a mop and a dust pan. Everyone was very patient and polite... on the outside. I KNOW they all wanted to puke too! Did I say GROSS??? At least she missed the lady's shoes that was sitting by the window... Barely. They skipped me twice while I cleaned all of it up (which I asked them to do) and by the time I went back to have my blood drawn, the waiting room was filling up. I am sure they were pleasantly surprised to be greeted by the smell of vomit! As we were heading out to the car I looked down and saw that my arm had a nice stream of blood coming down. Great. I went back for another piece of tape and thanked them again for their "help" with the puke. Needless to say, we ended our date early and went home.

I was sneaky...
While I was at my mom and dad's house, Melissa's toothbrush became missing within the first 2 days. We looked and looked and looked for that thing, asking the girls if they had seen it, following them when they were sneaky to see where they were hiding things, etc. We NEVER found it.
Last night (back at home) Ray and I were talking about brushing the girls teeth and Melissa (very solemnly) said, "I was sneaky." We asked her what she was sneaky about and she said, "With my toothbrush... at poppa's house." Oh dear! I asked her where it was almost not wanting to know the answer, and she said, "Stuck in the drain. AND IT IS STILL THERE!" Bigger oh dear! So we called Poppa bear so that she could explain the situation and apologize and so that she could ask Uncle Jeremy to take it out for her. Then she decided he had better chuck it since we only wash yucky things off of our hands and never yummy things. Oh, the joys of being 3.
Kayla can count to 18 all by herself. She is almost 20 months old. She knows the ABC song and can "read" "Brown Bear Brown Bear" by herself. These girls are amazing!
