Oh, The Joys of Parenthood!

The girls have been up to MUCH mischief this week! They had an impromptu water day that Mommy didn't know about until it was too late... which included filling a guitar case with water! Grrrr... Had I known it was going to be a water day, I would have provided them with some non-damaging water play. Oh well... such are the joys of parenthood. The following are just some random pictures from the past 2 weeks or so.
Kayla LOVES, LOVES, LOVES to do her nails, hair and make-up. She wears this dress every day as soon as it comes out of the dryer! This is her drying her fingernails after she painted them (and most of her fingers too!)
Melissa decided to hold a yard sale for me and Kayla to come and purchase anything we wanted! She has never been to a yard sale, and to my knowledge, has never helped with one. However, she instinctively knew to put stickers on everything she was selling! Jen and Laura came up for a few days last week and we LOVED the time with them! We went to Target one afternoon and Evan became sick just before we got there. He kept asking for a bucket to puke in. Laura went to my van and brought back the puke bucket that we keep in there for emergencies. Poor little guy. He kept his head in that bucket for a long, long time and did eventually puke! After that he kept the bucket with him through the rest of the store.
Here is a random picture Melissa took. She was VERY pleased with the stacking job she did with the cereal we scored at Rite-Aid. I think we are set for cereal for the next 2 months or so...
And here is a silly picture of Melissa at the dentist. It makes me smile.
I really do enjoy being their Mom... they make my life very interesting!

Our Cutie Patooties

I snapped some pictures of the girls as they were coming home from church today. Aren't they beautiful?
For 2 days the girls have been "Super Spies" and have gone around spying on Ray and Me. Kayla uses this magnifying glass to see where we have been and what we have been up to. Melissa carries a voice recorder to capture "important information" about us. They are SO funny!

Kayla's favorite things...

Kayla absolutely LOVES to fix her hair and put on make-up. Combine the two and you have a completely happy girl! I snapped a few pictures of her latest "creation" from this afternoon. Enjoy! (The red on and under her nose are actually scratches from a fall yesterday and not lipstick like the rest of the red on her face.)

Sunday Afternoon Fun...

We decided to take advantage of the BEAUTIFUL weather and Ray's being off of work yesterday and took the girls outside to ride their bike and scooter. The bike is Kayla's and the scooter is Melissa's. Melissa is a PRO on the bike and Kayla is a PRO on the scooter. Heehee... Melissa is in desperate need of a bike - one that is her size... but that will have to wait a bit longer. They had so much fun whizzing down the street past me in my good ole' chair. They are such cuties!
Kayla is trying to get the hang of making the bike go in the direction she wants it to go!
Oops! Not quite! Kayla was SO tired.. she decided to just watch Sissy:

Look at that happy face! She was so pleased with herself.

Bedrest Fun...

The girls had a BLAST going on a color scavenger hunt today! I have been trying to find fun things for the girls to do while I have to lay down for so many hours during the day.. Someone suggested a scavenger hunt, so we went with it. They LOVED it! Here are a few pictures from their hunt.

Easter Fun

We had a very peaceful Easter Eve and Easter. All of the plans we made for visits with friends and going out were abruptly changed when I started having some pretty harsh contractions and cramping. Sometimes trials can be blessings in disguise... we ended up laying around, reading to each other, playing, watching movies and most importantly, listening to the Prophet and Apostles speak to us in our home. It was amazing. We could feel the Spirit very strong and the girls commented several times about the happy feelings they were having while we were listening and having family time. They are so sweet. For some reason the only picture I have from Easter day is the first one. Hmmm.. how did I let THAT happen?? Ray's mom and dad came up for lunch and we didn't get pictures from that either. Bummer... Well, these are some of the pictures that I DID manage to take... mostly from Easter Eve.
