T-ball...

has started again! Melissa was SO excited to go to T-ball a few weeks ago. She remembered what she learned last year and had fun playing with all of her teammates. Now, 3 weeks later, we haven't been back as it has rained both Thursdays and Fridays. She is a little bummed about that, but is looking forward to our next sunny Friday! The following (out of order) pictures are from her first practise. She is so dang cute!
Mel on 1st (in the pink shorts)
Kayla Brooke watching Melissa play
I was watching, I swear!
Abbie was watching Mommy for most of the practise.
Daddy was there too, but I failed to get his picture. I did, however, look up at one point while he and Kayla were on a walk together to see him ROLLING DOWN A HILL. My big, silly husband was rolling down a hill with Kayla. He said he thought it through about 1/2 way down and decided he didn't want to be a distraction to her team so he stopped. Not that he was being a goof.. he just didn't want to be a distraction. Nice. Life around here is never boring!

To Catch a Leprechaun...

The girls decided that this would be the year we would catch a leprechaun! We had so much fun building our trap!
They wanted him to be comfortable so they put their doll chair, pillow and a blanket in the trap!
TaDa!
They left a chocolaty bait:
He came!!! But got away! :(
Their loot!
We will get you next year!

Volcanoes!

We ended our week-long study of volcanoes by building our own! It was so much fin!

Some of our recent happenings...

I did it!

Desperate times call for desperate measures!! Let me start by saying that we have not been grocery shopping for over a month... which means we are out of everything! By everything I mean pasta, bread, yogurt... EVERYTHING! After telling Ray I didn't know what I was going to feed the children today he reminded me of a package of ground beef we had in the freezer. He then suggested I (ME, by MYSELF) make hamburgers for lunch!! Those of you who know me know that I ABSOLUTELY cannot touch raw meat... At. All. Well, as I stated before, desperate times call for desperate measures. So, I called my sister for some pointers and made itty bitty tiny burgers for my girls! Yep. I did! Melissa kept making comments like, "I can't believe you are touching that!" and, "Wow, Mom, you are so brave!" Teehee... shows you how much I actually cook! I was so pleased with myself that I took pictures of the whole process!!
We are out of bread, so we baked some white house rolls and had tiny burgers made with those. The girls LOVED them!! They even asked to eat them EVERY day!

Swan Lake

February 17th was a GORGEOUS day! We simply could not pass up the opportunity to pick Daddy up from work and take him on a picnic. He took us to a pretty park called "Swan Lake". By the time we arrived the wind had started blowing and it was chilly so our picnic didn't last very long!
We didn't see any swans, but there were a lot of geese!
This is Melissa daring the geese to get out of the water...
Abbie enjoying her 1st picnic. She had sweet potatoes! Melissa and Kayla fed their sandwiches to the geese, but kept the chips for themselves!!

Kayla was a little scared of the geese (and their poop) and stayed on the bench.
Thank you for the fun, Daddy-O!
